Tomatoes & Blog Hop

Happy Fourth of July!
My mom thinks my hair looks like fireworks! Go figure!
(I'm blog hopping!)

It's Tuesday again!! Time to slow down and celebrate the good things in life.

Today I am honoring the elderly and the impact that has been made on my life through their selfless example.

My neighbor is 91!!!
He is amazing!
He still cuts grass for other people, gets up at the crack of dawn and tends to a large, beautiful garden. He is always sharing his wealth with others. He is continually searching for people in need. Wherever he goes, that is his mission.

Yesterday, he knocked on my door. I know it's him because he always says. "Dale here!!".

When I opened my door he was holding the most beautiful tomatoes! And he was giving them to me. As our conversation went on, we happened upon the subject of money and he said,

"I don't serve my wallet, but my heart and who lives in it!"

WOW! I was so moved by this statement. He gets it!

Whatever we have, whether a lot or a little, can be used to glorify God.

My neighbor is living proof!

Older people are a wealth of knowledge and have a lot to share with us.
If we just take the time to listen!

Hop on over to Emily's at Chatting at the Sky and see what else is being celebrated today!!

aw, what a sweet old gentleman. It makes me sad that our society places such little value on the elderly. I'm glad you have a neighbor who can remind you of the wisdom and value of old age.:)
