Trimming the Tree

The kids had a joyous time decorating the tree!!
Unfortunately most of the 50 pictures were blurry.

Christmas is such a fun time of year, minus the commercialism of course.
We don't get into the frenzy of shopping and trying to find the perfect gift while spending exorbitant amounts of money on something that is soon forgotten. Focusing on serving others and making handmade gifts helps our family focus on the real reason for the season.

Here's a wonderful post on how to "do less and enjoy more" at the Nesting Place!!!
Check it out for inspiration!!!

How do you avoid getting caught up in the craziness that sometimes comes with Christmas?

  1. BEAUTIFUL shots! Decorating the tree can be such a magical experience!

We are also hand-making all of our gifts - with the exception of some wooden playthings to go with T's new kitchen set. . . can't wait for that! We didn't have the money to give any gifts over the last two holidays, so this year is very special for us. And the fact that T is finally old enough to participate is making it even more special!

  2. being sure to do the family things...watching christmas shows, baking, decorating, driving around looking at lights (after getting into our pjs and getting chickfila milkshakes!), visiting family and friends...all the things that make you feel relaxed and savroing the season!

  3. I am trying so hard to get back to making things, whether it be a craft or food, for gifts! I think people enjoy that more that more than most realize. You are such an inspiration. You have the right idea!

  4. We are stepping back this year! Buying less and spending more time with each other--teaching about the REAL reason for the season.

It looks like your Christmas is going to be wonderful as well!

(Thanks for visiting my blog and your sweet comments!)
