Finds

Hope everyone enjoyed searching for treasure this weekend.
Check out what Rhoda found!!

My mom was getting rid of this! I think an aquarium used to sit on top. Any ideas for what I should with it? I ran out of black spray paint. Boo-hoo!
Hobby Lobby had 80% of their clearance and I got this for $2.

Loved this picture for $3 at Goodwill.

Table - $5, basket - $4 and Pottery Barn table runner $1 at various thrift stores!!
I have plans to paint the table chocolate brown on top and the legs turquoise.

Cute jewelry holder $1.

That's all folks!!!
See you next week.

Rest

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life.
I'll show you how to take a real rest.

Creation & Fashion

I'm linking to Jen's Frugal Fashionista Fashion Show.
Who doesn't love a good deal?
Can't beat frugal and stylish!!

Lacy top and brown skirt. (not familiar with the brand names, but still liked it!)
Both purchased for $4.25.
No I am not ill in this picture. The only photographer in the house was my 7 year old daughter.
She kept giving me pointers such as:
"Turn your head a little to the left...there, now chin up a little"
Finally I just said, "Please take the picture NOW!"
Casual jean skirt with Liz Claiborne top, both $4.25.

We had the opportunity to visit Hatcher Gardens today. It is a beautiful area full of gorgeous flowers and home to many of God's creatures.

Sawyer was fortunate to spot a Mama turtle sunning herself on a log. The baby turtle swam away just as this shot was being taken.

We saw so many frogs!!!

Sophie loved the waterfall!

The bees were everywhere.

Do you see what I see?

Hope you and your family have a blessed weekend.

Take time to enjoy each other!

What Does Summer Mean to You

Remember the trifle bowl?
Doesn't it look summery with fresh, delicious cantaloupe in it?

Sawyer taught Sophie how to "do" a happy face" and this is what we got!!
I was thinking of summer and what it signifies to me.
Relaxation
Rest
Togetherness
Sun
Fun
Family
BBQ
Fireflies
Fireworks
Swimming
Sleeping late (yeah, right!)
Staying up later
Vacation Bible School
What does summer mean to you?

Happy Wednesday!!

I'm Celebrating Today

I'm linking to Emily's Tuesdays Unwrapped today.
She has encouraged us to dwell on the thing we can celebrate every day.
As I cleaned up the kitchen this morning after breakfast, I looked at the table and was struck by what I saw. My 3 children were sitting there laughing and enjoying the moment of being together. I thanked God that I was able to witness this JOYful time. Before I could get the camera to capture the moment, it was over. This Mama treasured that sweet time of precious togetherness

Cute, Easy & Cheap

These are a few things to do that are simple.
And you can do it literally for only a few $$.

The vases and bowl I got for 1$ a piece at Goodwill.
The backyard was where I got the succulents and flowers.
Easy!

The plates again came from Goodwill for $0.50.
You can hot glue anything to a plate and it will look great!!
The "M" came from Hobby Lobby and the ribbon was in my stash!

Decorating can be fun and easy on your wallet!

Friends and Fun

Sawyer invited his good friend Ben to come over yesterday.
They had the kind of fun that boys love with just dirt and a few guns. (plastic of course)
I enjoyed watching them be little boys!

Hours of Lego building!

Thanks Ben for being a good friend to Sawyer.

Dumpster Diving

Look what you can get if you are brave enough to dumpster dive!!

Actually, hubby dove in and came up with this gem.
He was doing a little work at a house where the homeowners were moving.

You would not believe the items that they threw away in the huge dumpster.

2 sets of golf clubs, tons of tennis rackets, 3 bicycles in great conditions, brand new paint rollers, a huge wooden United States puzzle only missing one state and the above mentioned frame!!
(Hubby did ask if he could have the "trash".

Believe it or not, I do NOT have a before picture. Let me tell you it was UGLY!!

After a few coats of glossy black paint and a cork board, this is the final product!!

What do you think?

Tuesday

Kimba from A Soft Place to Land is hosting a Garden Party!!

I love flowers. They quite often do not love me.

But I do attempt to at least keep a few alive.

This is the neglected pumpkin plant that spontaneously came up after we tossed an old pumpkin from Thanksgiving. (sorry about the weeds)

Not sure what these are, but I think they are lovely.

I also like how the flowers close up are out of focus and the one in the background is in focus.

Didn't plan that.
The hanging basket of petunias are doing well. I keep thinking how much longer can they thrive under my care.
These will not die, no matter how they are neglected.

Happy Tuesday.

This is an all over the place post with random thoughts!!

I love this oh so cute flag from my sister in law!!

Chloe has succeeded in learning to ride a bike... Sawyer's bike, but hey, her bike is a little too big!!

This is what Sophie does when I am on the computer.

She rarely plays with toys.
She prefers the real thing!
It doesn't even matter to her that all the books are upside down!!

Off to the land of laundry!

Have a great day!

For where you treasure is, there will be your heart also.
