I got a...

NEW CAMERA!!!

My husband surprised me when I returned from a retreat that I attend each year with my church.

He cleverly said,
"Gotcha some new bowls."

I said, "WOW, thanks!"

I really need some new rubbermaid bowls I thought.

As I began to open the box, I noticed the kids all lined up with sweet smiles on their faces genuinely excited about seeing mom's reaction to the "bowls".

When I ripped the last piece of tape off, I could not believe it.

I felt like a kid on Christmas morning.

"Just what I always wanted!!"

A NEW CAMERA!!
After lots of hugs and kisses, I quickly tried it out.

And it was so much fun!

What makes it so sweet
is the sacrifice
behind the gift.

Many, many long hours were spent in hauling heavy loads of metal to the scrapyard to sell.

My husband and son worked incredibly hard to do this for me and I am deeply touched by their gift.

Appreciating hard work and generosity today!!

Count your many blessings.

Name them one by one!

  1. Hello! Great to hear that your family is having fun and supporting each other! I feel like that’s the beauty of having your family next to you. Sometimes they make you smile and cry but that’s the part of life and we need think positive. I love the pictures! Your kids seem really happy and excited! In addition, gift is really important but the fact that your husband and son did that for you is touching. I hope you guys enjoy and have fun with the new camera! Take a lot of pictures and record videos because after ten years your family will remember old days while watching it again! God Bless!

  3. The new camera is wonderful...
The pictures, which you KNOW are just toe curlin' ones are even better...

But the story of how he got it for you is the best of all. You know, we don't have that much in the way of material possessions at our house, but the love that has always gone in to every little "extra" like that is more precious to me than I can express. It's nice to know that others feel the same way.

I think you have not one but TWO good men at your house.
