A GrEaT DaY for a PiCnIc

Yesterday was a lovely day for a picnic.

We had only one child at home as the other 2 were off gallivanting with friends.

So we spread the blanket, prepared snacks and poured the apple juice.

The sun kissed our faces and warmed our toes.

Hearing
"I love you Mommy"
over and over
was music to my ears!

Our time together was beautiful and sweet.

I couldn't think of a better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.

  1. It's funny. This reminds me of something that I was just remembering.

I won't get into the whole story, but I was remembering why it was that I stopped spending my extra cash and time decorating when the girls were growing up. It was because I realized one day that I could not, for the life of me, remember what my mother's sofa looked like when I was little.

I could, however, remember every place she had taken me and all the little things we had done together. I decided then and there that decorating could wait. Picnics, day trips, and adventures could not.

This was very sweet to me.

  2. My first time here and have to say like the blog and couldn't agree more some of my best memories are of the times I spent with my dad as a child.

Yes both my parents are still alive and yes I see them on a weekly basis as I am very close to my family.
